From Guercino to Van Gogh: Getty Conservator Shares Secrets of the Masters

Hear Devi Ormond, internationally-recognized Associate Paintings Conservator from the J. Paul Getty Museum, as she lets us peek into her mysterious world of researching and conserving some of the world’s most renowned paintings from masters like Van Gogh, Guercino, and Fantin-Latour. Discover hidden surprises in paintings that can only be unlocked by combining an unlikely cocktail of hands-on work, old-fashioned sleuthing, and modern technology, bringing new insights into old masterpieces.

Ms. Ormond is internationally recognized for her work on 19th century French paintings. At the J. Paul Getty Museum, Ormond is currently treating a 17th century Italian painting from the National Gallery of Ireland. Her credits extend to the Van Gogh Museum and the Kröller-Müller Museum both in the Netherlands, the Victoria Albert Museum in London, and the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena.
